Finally, I am writing after celebrating Team India’s historic win in the India vs South Africa Final of the T20 World Cup 2024.
After the disappointment of the ODI World Cup 2023, this victory is a moment of immense pride for all of us.
It’s a victory that will be remembered for years to come, and it’s the reason I’ve decided to start writing my blog again.
The T20 World Cup 2024 victory is not just a win; it’s a statement of our team’s resilience and determination.
Total Dominance in T20 World Cup 2024
This World Cup will be remembered for ages because India won with total domination, and almost all players performed from the league match to the Super 8 and semifinals to the final.
It’s the remarkable victory and the journey that led to it. Rohit Sharma started the T20 World Cup with a Fifty; after that, Surya Kumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Jadeja, Dube and Virat Kohli.
Everyone contributed to batting in every match, and our bowling unit is world-class.
Jasprit Bumrah is totally out of this world; he bowled in every game with an economy of 4 and took crucial wickets.
Arshseep Singh is the leading wicket-taker, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav are phenomenal, and Mohmed Siraj is too.
Their performance has made us all proud and pleased.
India vs South Africa Final 2024
Now, let’s talk about the final match.
The final was in Barbados, between the undefeated South Africa team, led by fantastic captain Aidan Markram, and India.
India started with the toss win, and Rohit Sharma elected to bat first after winning the toss. India played with the same 11.

Quinton de Kock (wk), Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram (C), David Miller, Tristan Stubbs, Heinrich Klaasen Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Tabraiz Shamsi
Match Begin
After the national anthems, the match began with Marco Jansen bowling the first over. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, the pillars of our batting line-up, were ready for the big final.
Rohit started with a single on the first ball, and Virat, struggling with form, began his innings with a beautiful four.
The next ball also found the boundary, and the over ended with three fours, setting the tone for the match with 15 runs from this Jansen over.
South Africa on Top
Keshav Maharaj came for the second over, and Rohit started with a bang and hit the two boundaries.
Everyone thought this would also become huge, but then the twist came.
In the next ball, Rohit Sharma caught Rishabh Pant, who was also out in the last ball of the over, and Keshav Maharaj took South Africa into the game with two back-to-back wickets.
Suryakumar Yadav was also out in the next over of Rabada, and India’s score was 34/3 in 4.3 overs.
Axar Patel At No.5
Team india promoted Axar Patel on the 5th; India is under massive pressure in the final, and Virat and Axar need to handle this pressure and build a partnership to score a good total in the India vs South Africa final T20 World Cup 2024 final.
Virat and Axar played sensible cricket for a few overs. After building a partnership, Axar started targeting the bowler and hitting boundaries and sixes.
Axar and Virat were now set and looked in great touch, and Team india also looked in a good position. After 10 overs, India scored 74/3.
Virat played an anchoring role, and Axar started attacking.
Quinton de Kock’s Unbelievable Throw
Team india looks in an excellent position as Axar and Virat are all set but but but then Quinton de Kock’s unbelievable throw runs out Axar Patel and takes South Africa back in the game;
Now it’s all on Virat Kohli and Shivam Dubey to score and add more runs in total.
Shivam Dubey started with quickfire, and Virat also started attacking. Dubey scored 27 runs in just 16 balls.
As Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid said, Virat saved runs for the final, scored 76 runs in 59 balls and showed his class in the T20 World Cup 2024 final.
In 20 overs, team india scored 176/7 runs; now it’s up to the bowlers to win the T20 World Cup.
Great Start with Bowl
Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep give a good start with the bowl and take the wicket of Reza Handrics and South African captain Aidan Markram.
South Africa was 12/2 after 2.3 overs, but Quinton de Kock looked dangerous at the other end and played fearless cricket.
Tristen Stubs also played well against the spinner and relieved South Africa, but Axar Patel broke the partnership by out stubs, and Arshdeep took the big wicket of De Kock and took india back in the game.
Heinrich Klaasen Attack on Spin
Heinrich Klaasen was building a partnership with David Miller. South Africa needed 76 runs in 48 balls, and they played sensible cricket.
Our spin attack against the Klassen looks very ordinary. He takes Kuldip and Axar on remand, scored 24 runs in Axar’s over and completed his fifty in just 25 balls.
Now South Africa needed only 30 runs in 30 balls.
TV Mobile Off
All the people turned off their TV and mobile screens and stopped watching the match. Indian street was again silent, and everybody thought it was another heartbreak for team india after the ODI World Cup 2023.
Hardik, Bumrah and Arshdeep Magic
But then Hardik Pandya came to bowl and took the wicket of Set Henrich Klassen. Jasprit Bumarah bowled a tight over in the next over and took Marco Jansen’s wicket. Arshdeep gave just 4 runs in the 19th over.

Now South Africa needed 16 runs in the last over. David Miller was on strike, Hardik Pandya bowled the final over and started with the full toss, and Miller hit the ball with full power.
Most Important Catch of the World Cup
Everybody thought it was a six but but, but our superman SKY (Suryakumar Yadav) came in between and took the most important catch of the match at the boundary ropes. Miller was gone, and now India is the favourite to win the India vs South Africa Final 2024.
Team india is fully charged now, and the players’ body language is very confident. Here in India, everybody has started the celebration.
Hardik gave just eight runs in the last over, and INDIA Won the T20 World Cup 2024 with just 7 runs ( Thala for a reason, hahaha).
And The Party Starts in the Dressing Room
Arshdeep threw the ball back to the bowler from deep mid-wicket. Pandya fell to the ground, crying like a child.
Rohit lay flat on his back, hit the ground with his hands several times, and shook his head after getting up. He had tears in his eyes, too.
The Indian support staff ran to the players to hug and celebrate. Dravid hugged Kohli, who looked very relieved and maybe even shed a tear.
Runners-up South Africa
Meanwhile, in the South African camp, the mood was completely different. Miller stood by the boundary, unable to believe what had happened, with his head down.
As India kept celebrating, South Africa came out to shake hands. Rohit asked his players to join the handshakes.
Siraj was crying a lot, too. Rohit hugged Kohli, and both of them were emotional. Then Rohit folded his hands in a gesture of thanking God. What a scene!
In Barbados, India won the T20 World Cup Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma and Coach Rahul Dravid.
Everyone started celebrating and crying happily after winning the World Cup.
Bowler Wins You The Tournament
Arshdeep Singh is the leading wicket-taker in this T20 World Cup; Jasprit Bumrah was phenomenal and took the most crucial wicket.
Hardik Pandya gave the best bowling performance in this World Cup; Axar and Kukdip are also outstanding, and now india is World Champion.
Bharat ka Jhanda barbodose me gadenge
As Jay Shah Said, “Bharat ka Jhanda barbodose me gadenge.” Rohit Sharma also did the same after winning the World Cup.
Virat Kohli thanked god for the inning he played today, and he became the Man of the Match in this T20 World Cup Final.
Jasprit Bumrah became the Player of the tournament, and he proved again that a Batter gives you sponsorship, and a bowler wins you the tournament.
Everyone booed Hardik Pandya during the IPL, but now he has become India’s hero, and everyone praises him and celebrates his success.
After this final, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja announced their retirement from the T20 cricket. As someone said, “We won the cup, but we lost 3 diamonds” in T20 cricket.
World Cup Winning Coach Rahul Dravid
Also, coach Rahul Dravid has completed the coaching tenure. Rahul Dravid is an inspiration to all. He lost the World Cup as captain, but now he has won the World Cup as a coach.
Rahul Dravid did not show emotion, but after winning the World Cup, he looked so happy, and our player handed over the trophy to him.
In this World Cup team, India Played as one unit. They did not play for individual records.
Rohit and Kohli tried to get a good start on the powerplay, and they started playing fearless cricket from the first ball.
Suryakumar Yadav is our no 1 T20 Batsman and tries to play similarly.
Rishabh Pant also pitched a good inning, Shivam Dubey made good cameos, and Hardik and Axar showed their all-around ability.
Also, Kuldeep took the important wicket in the middle order, and Jasprit Bumrah is a world-class bowler. He bowls like the same;
Arshdeep Singh is the leading wicket-taker, and Mohammed Siraj also bowls well. Sanju Samson, Yashshvi Jaiswal and Yuzvendra Chahal also support the team well.
Our coaching staff, Rahul Dravid, and others help our players get the best out of them. And a special mention to T Dilip, our fielding coach.
His idea of fielding a medal ceremony is the best thing to maintain a good atmosphere in a team.
